WoZAPay

Tap. Pay. Uplift.

South Africa moved cashless. The informal economy didn't get the memo. WoZaPay is a cashless payment platform for South Africa's informal economy — tips for service workers, purchases from street vendors, wages for casual labourers. One tap. One card. No cash required.

One tap pays for
anything.

Whether you're tipping a car guard, buying avocados from a corner vendor, or paying your gardener — it's the same experience. Tap or scan. Pay. Done.

01

Worker or vendor carries the card

Every registered person receives a dual NFC + QR hybrid card — a car guard wears it on a lanyard, a street vendor displays it at their stall, a gardener keeps it in their pocket.

02

Customer taps or scans

Tap your phone on the NFC chip or scan the QR code. A secure WoZaPay payment page opens instantly — no app download, no registration required.

03

Choose what you're paying for

Tip a service worker, buy produce from a street vendor, or pay a casual labourer's wages. Enter the amount or select from the vendor's price list. Pay with Capitec, FNB, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, SnapScan or Zapper.

04

Worker receives — twice daily

Payments are batched and paid out twice daily — at 3pm and 3am via FNB eWallet or Capitec Send Cash. Tips received before 3pm pay out same afternoon. Tips after 3pm pay out overnight. Workers cash out at any ATM or Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Game or Makro. No bank account required.

WoZaPay turns their NFC+QR card into a point-of-sale — customers tap or scan to pay. Twice-daily payouts at 3pm and 3am means vendors can restock the same afternoon. No cash. No card machine. WoZaPay Founding Philosophy

We don't give handouts.
We remove barriers.

WoZaPay isn't charity. It's infrastructure. We restore the earning potential that was always there.

🛠️

We build the tool, they build the income

A WoZaPay card doesn't give a guard money. It gives them the means to earn what they've already worked for — consistently, digitally, with dignity.

📈

Self-sustaining by design

No donations. No grants. No dependency. Tippers pay what they want, guards earn what they deserve, and WoZaPay takes a small percentage to keep the system running.

🌍

Financial inclusion, not charity

Guards are using WoZaPay to save for education, upskill, and build their own businesses. That's not a side effect. That's the point.

🪜

A stepping stone, not a ceiling

WoZaPay isn't just a way to receive tips — it's the first rung of a financial ladder for people who've never had one.

If it's on your phone, it works.

No new apps. No new accounts. Just use whatever you already have.
